The Arena de Baixada or 'Arena CAP' was built in the late 1990's and was considered one of the most modern stadiums in Latin America at the time. But since Curitiba was selected as a host city for the World Cup significant renovations needed to be made to see the stadium comply with FIFA regulations.

The newly redeveloped stadium is set to host four group stage matches during the World Cup.

Facts: Opened in 1999, the Arena de Baixada is home to Clube Atletico Paranaense.
