Todd thwarted in loan swoop

Bradford City boss Colin Todd has been forced to abandon a loan swoop after his transfer target suffered an 11th hour injury.

Todd was looking to draft a midfielder in as cover for the injured Jermaine Johnson in time for Friday's clash with Northampton, but he has been forced to put his plans on ice.

"I was looking to bring in a midfielder to add a bit of competition and now, with JJ out, I have made strides to get a right-sider for a month," Todd told the Telegraph & Argus newspaper.

"I haven't got many options and the boy I was looking to bring in can play on the left as well

"I think he would have been here but for a little injury problem and it might still happen next week, although I would have to think about it.

"I have got a good team and decent squad but not in terms of depth and when you get an injury or suspension you notice that."
