Todd happy to keep duo
31 Aug 2006 - 12:02:06
Bradford City manager Colin Todd is delighted to have extended the loan deals of Lee Holmes and Nathan Doyle for two more months until the beginning of January 2007.
The Derby County duo moved to Valley Parade at the beginning of August, initially on three-month loan deals, and have made an immediate impact on the Bantams.
"This sends out the right message that we're trying to go forward," Todd told the Telegraph & Argus.
"We have got something going at the football club and I don't want to break that up.
"The dressing room is brilliant at the moment and the other lads would be very disappointed if it got to November and we had to let the two of them go.
"The supporters have also seen what contribution Lee and Nathan have made. They are both great characters despite being only young lads and have that something about them.
"You'd have thought they'd been our players all the time because they have fitted in so well.
"Lee Holmes is an exciting player and has given us another dimension on the left side while Nathan came through a tough baptism against Bristol City at centre-back and has done really well playing as a right-back."
