Thorne pens new City deal

Veteran striker Peter Thorne has signed a new one-year contract with Bradford City.

Thorne, 35, was the Bantams' 17-goal top-scorer last season despite missing several games due to a long-running back injury.

"We know we've got a good goalscorer and now it's about finding the right one alongside him," manager Stuart McCall told the Telegraph & Argus.

"If we manage to bring in a young one up front, they can only learn from Pete.

"He's certainly enjoying his football and it doesn't sound like he wants to pack in soon."

Meanwhile, McCall has revealed his interest in signing Macclesfield Town striker Gareth Evans.
