Bradford City boss Colin Todd believes the return to fitness of keeper Donovan Ricketts was the key to his side's clean sheet at Port Vale.

Ricketts had been sidelined since the 1-1 draw at Rotherham United in August due to a broken bone in his foot, but he put in a commanding display on his comeback at Vale Park at the weekend which left Todd delighted.

He told the club's official website: "When you have a keeper who comes for crosses when it's right to and takes the pressure off the defenders, then it helps us all as a team.

"It was good for Donovan to get 90 minutes in the reserves in midweek and having him back was pleasing for us all.

"I'm a great believer that if you keep a clean sheet, you will win the game because we possess the players who are always capable of scoring."
