Reaction disappoints McCall

20 Sep 2007 - 13:47:12

Bradford City boss Stuart McCall has urged home fans to end their booing of his side following a negative reaction at half-time during last weekend's 1-0 win over Peterborough United.

The Bantams had held the pre-season promotion favourites to a goalless first period at Valley Parade before a first goal of the season from centre-half Mark Bower handed them the points.

"I know there weren't many booing, and I'm not even sure if any of the lads heard, but it still wasn't nice and I was quite annoyed," said McCall.

"We all want success and want it as soon as possible - that's only natural.

"But as I keep saying, we are a new bunch and it does take time. We are early into the season.

"We know we're on our own patch and expect to be on top. It would be great to go out and roll teams over every week.

"But it's not going to happen like that. Peterborough are a strong team, not just because they have money but with some very good players."

Meanwhile, winger Alex Rhodes' comeback has been put on hold for another week as he continues to be troubled by a hamstring problem.
