Bradford City manager Stuart McCall has praised Kyle Nix's character after the 22-year-old opted to sign a new one-year deal with the Bantams.
The former Sheffield United midfielder proved to be one of City's best players this season, finding the net eight times in 44 appearances.
McCall told the Telegraph & Argus: "I think he even surprised himself by how many games he's played. We've really seen him come on and flourish, but that's a testament to his ability and character.
"I said I couldn't see him playing left side because he lacked natural pace, and I couldn't see him in central midfield because he didn't have the height or the physical attributes.
"But he just went out there to show me how capable he was and that's what I want to see in a player."
