McCall warning over contracts

Bradford City boss Stuart McCall has warned players considering new deals tabled by the club that they must make swift decisions about their futures.

Several established first-team players - including Luke O'Brien, Matt Clarke and Peter Thorne - have been offered new deals but are yet to inform the Bantams whether they intend to sign on for next season.

"The bottom line is, if they want to go elsewhere for an extra £50 per week, so be it," McCall told the club's official website.

"I'm not going to spend all the close season chasing them and, with regard those we've offered deals to, we really need to be sitting down and finalising them this week.

"They've had plenty of time now to discuss it with whoever they need to. Maybe agents have touted them around too, but we have to get it sorted.

"If they want to stay for the right reasons then great, but if they want to move on, that's fine and up to them.

"But I remember going back to being a kid and money wasn't everything. It was about wanting to do what was right for my career.

"That for me is the most important thing and we're not going to be held to ransom."
