Marc's injury misery
02 Apr 2007 - 11:07:39
Bradford City's chances of avoiding the drop to League Two have been hit by the news that Marc Bridge-Wilkinson may not play again this season after suffering an injury in the opening stages of the defeat at Scunthorpe United.
Initial checks suggested the former Port Vale star, who is out of contract at Valley Parade in the summer, had damaged knee medial ligaments.
Caretaker boss David Wetherall told the Telegraph & Argus: "He's on crutches and in a brace at the moment so it doesn't look good.
"There's a fear we might have seen the last of Marc this season. We're hoping it's not that serious, but it's certainly a possibility. He's a big player for us and losing him would be a massive blow."
Of his side's chances of avoiding relegation, Wetherall added: "With the teams we've got left to play, I still believe our fate is in our own hands."
