Paul Heckingbottom is hoping to extend his loan stay at Bradford City until the end of the season.
The experienced full-back is due to return to Barnsley in early January, but would like to remain at Valley Parade until the end of the season.
Heckingbottom is set to return to action in Saturday's trip to Peterborough United after missing the last two weeks with a calf strain.
"There are only two weeks left of the loan so something needs to be sorted," he told the Telegraph & Argus.
"I don't know what Bradford or Barnsley are thinking but I would definitely like to stay.
"I'm playing regularly, they are a good set of lads to work with and the gaffer and (assistant) Wayne Jacobs are great.
"Hopefully something can be sorted out very soon."
