Conlon keen for contract talks
19 Nov 2008 - 11:09:32
Bradford City striker Barry Conlon hopes his long-term future lies at Valley Parade.
The 30-year-old only has six weeks left on his current six-month deal with the Bantams, but believes his six-goal haul this season will convince Stuart McCall to hand him a longer contract.
Conlon told the Telegraph & Argus: "There's not long left so I'll be going to see the gaffer soon enough to see what his thoughts are.
"Hopefully it's positive news and I can set my mind at rest knowing I'm here for the end of the season.
"I'll just keep my head down and plug away and hopefully get a few more goals before we sit down. I've got a few goals under my belt and it would be good to keep that going.
"The length of the contract was good for both parties. The gaffer sees what he's getting and I've got the chance to prove myself.
"I'll always give 100 per cent in training and luckily enough I'm playing at the minute. Long may it continue."
The Drogheda-born forward has scored 13 goals in 61 appearances for City since moving to Valley Parade from Mansfield Town in the summer of 2007.
