Caretaker-manager David Wetherall admitted Bradford City's bid to beat relegation now hinges on the results of their fellow struggling sides after the 2-0 defeat by Leyton Orient.
The Bantams remain deep in relegation trouble in 21st place in League One following their weekend defeat and need to win their two remaining matches and hope other teams slip up to retain their League One status.
"We are still scratching our heads as to how we lost the game, but there is still an opportunity to win our last two games against Chesterfield and Millwall and we are capable of doing that," said Wetherall.
"This certainly was not the performance of a struggling team and if we play as well as we did in the first half we have got a good chance of winning our last two matches.
"But now we are relying on other teams to slip up.
"We must pick ourselves up on Monday and start working towards winning at Chesterfield next Saturday."
