Zola at the double in Alex win

10 October 2009 17:53
After five successive defeats the Railwaymen stormed into a two-goal lead when Zola fired home from long range after eight minutes and then drilled in a second midway through the first half. Both sides struck the woodwork before Michael Boulding pulled one back for City with a header just before the break. Former Bradford man Steven Schumacher looked to have sealed the points when he drove home from 25 yards, but City rallied and James Hanson's volley with 20 minutes left set up a frantic finish. Crewe full-back Ashley Westwood then appeared to handle the ball in his penalty box, but controversially referee Carl Boyeson ruled it had taken place outside the area.
