Bradford manager Peter Taylor lauded stand-in skipper Lee Hendrie following his contribution in the weekend win over Cheltenham. The former Aston Villa midfielder capped an outstanding display with an acrobatic volley, his first senior goal in 21 months, to help the Bantams clinch back-to-back wins. Taylor, who snapped up Hendrie on a free transfer after his release from Derby in the summer, said: "I made him captain because he was the most experienced player we'd got "We'd run out of captains a little bit and the staff felt it was right for him. When I brought him in, I was hoping he'd been exactly the same as he was when he played for the (England) Under-21s. "To be fair, his ability and knowledge is exactly the same. Lee is a very clever player round the box. "He's still hungry and hasn't come here just for a little holiday - he's come here to do well. He's got that smile around the place and is always good to work with."
