Taylor: Good start important

Bradford manager Peter Taylor is confident he can get the team's season off to a positive start on Saturday. The Bantams face an intriguing encounter with Shrewsbury and Taylor is keen to maintain the momentum his side showed when he took over at Valley Parade towards the end of the last campaign. Bradford won four and drew two of their final six outings, which included victories over play-off chasing Morecambe and Northampton, and Taylor knows his side may have to hit the ground running if they are to mount a promotion push this term. "The boys did really well in those last few games but now it's important we make a good start to the new season," Taylor told the Football League's official website. "If you start well the confidence grows and that can give you the platform to build a prolonged challenge, which of course is what we're hoping to do. "Nobody overspends in League Two and without teams like Notts County and Rochdale (both promoted last season) I think it will be a tight, tough division."
