Taylor anticipating goal rush for Speight

Bradford boss Peter Taylor hopes Jake Speight is about to hit the goal trail. Speight scored his first goal for the Bantams since his summer move from Mansfield in Tuesday night's 2-1 Carling Cup defeat to Preston, and Taylor feels it will give the 24-year-old greater belief. "He is off the mark and I am pleased about that," said the former England Under-21 manager. "He will take confidence from that goal. It will relax him and it looks as if he has got goals in him." Speight took the tie into extra time after Paul Coutts had put Preston ahead, but Keith Treacy's 109th-minute strike sealed the win for Darren Ferguson's side. "We worked hard and I couldn't fault the team," Taylor added. "I have told the boys that although they will be disappointed to have lost the tie, we were playing a Championship team."
