Ramsden has confidence in Bateson

Ramsden strained his groin in last week's draw at Barnet and will miss Saturday's home clash with Chesterfield, but has no qualms about Bateson stepping up to replace him. Ramsden told the club's official website: "Jon's done well when he's played in the cup matches and did a good job coming on for me last week. "He's a good defender and it's there for him to take his opportunity now. If he does, then I'll have to fight to get back in the side." Ramsden was expected to miss the next three matches, but hopes to be back in contention for next Tuesday's trip to Morecambe. He added: "I've pulled muscles in the past so you know roughly how long it's going to be and I don't think this is a bad one."
