Mooney shines for Us

A brace from David Mooney helped Colchester see off Bradford in a thrilling FA Cup tie which ended 4-3. Colchester took the lead after five minutes when Andrew Bond struck home from 15 yards, after Mooney had picked him out from Kayode Odejayi's pass. But Bradford were back on level terms less than two minutes later through James Hanson, who finished well from Louis Moult's assist. The U's regained their lead in the 19th minute when Mooney superbly lifted a first-time shot past keeper Lenny Pidgeley from a tight angle, following Odejayi's pass. However, the Bantams equalised again after David Syers nodded Luke O'Brien's long free-kick past keeper Ben Williams. Colchester regained their lead nine minutes after the break through Brian Wilson, who curled home a low free-kick from the edge of the area. Mooney struck home his second of the match with 25 minutes to go from the spot after Luke Oliver had fouled Matt Heath in the area. Hanson headed in Tom Adeyemi's cross with 11 minutes to go but it was not enough for the Bantams.
