McLaughlin in line for starting role

McCall opted against extending Eastwood's loan spell at Valley Parade because he wants a more experienced goalkeeper, but is struggling to find the right man and could be forced to hand McLaughlin, 19, only his second start against Cheltenham.

McCall said: "At the moment we're waiting on calls back. We'll see what we can come up with in the next few days, but if we have to go with Jonny we will.

"At the beginning of the season we were looking at a younger lad, like a few clubs in our division. You saw that with David Button for Shrewsbury on Monday.

"But we're trying to find a little bit of experience, although that's probably going to be easier said than done.

"We've been in touch with a couple and just been priced out. The wages are too much."
