McCall makes plea for loan players

The Bantams manager is still in the hunt for two midfielders and will decide on whether to hand deals to Grant Smith and Jamie O'Brien this week, but wants the bigger clubs to send their young players to Valley Parade for regular first-team football. McCall told the club's official website: "I've sent off a fax to each Premiership and Championship club about us being available for long or short-term loan deals. "Clubs are getting back after their own friendlies now and they might decide it would be good to have a kid on the fringes of the first-team playing regularly out somewhere like us." McCall added: "We're at the mercy of other clubs and other players, but we should be hearing back from people one way or another. I think we will get one in certainly and possibly two. If not we'll move on and look elsewhere." Meanwhile, Bradford bounced back from the weekend defeat to Barnsley by winning 1-0 at Blue Square North side Alfreton Town thanks to a solitary goal from O'Brien midway through the second half.
