McCall hopeful of summer signings

McCall has brought four players into Valley Parade during the summer so far, but with the big kick-off less than two weeks away, the former Scotland international has targeted at least two more additions to his squad, with central midfield requiring special attention. "Central midfield is a key area I need to strengthen and hopefully I will be able to do that in the next couple of weeks," McCall told the Telegraph & Argus. "We have a couple of irons in the fire. We certainly need one, possibly two new players in there." McCall is also pondering over the new skipper at the Bantams following Graeme Lee's departure and added: "I will probably have a team captain and a club captain. "Peter Thorne has a lot of respect in the dressing room and he is one of the candidates along with Zesh Rehman, who is defending well."
