McCall fury at referee Attwell

The Bantams were furious after Attwell, famous for the Phantom goal between Reading and Watford last season, sent off striker Gareth Evans 13 minutes from time. Evans was dismissed for a tackle on Morecambe goalkeeper Barry Roche on 77 minutes. McCall said: "If Gareth hadn't have gone for the ball I would have hauled him off. The ref said he thought it was dangerous from his angle but that certainly wasn't the case. The ref was poor all night but I would rather concentrate on the positives from my lads' performance." He added: "I'm disappointed that we didn't win because some of our football was superb but at the same time you couldn't find a more proud manager. "Morecambe have played all the league's top sides in recent weeks and got something from every one of those game but we should have put four past them. We footballed them off the park but unfortunately couldn't beat their keeper."
