Hendrie maintaining McCall belief

McCall has said he will quit if the club fail to make the play-offs this season, but Hendrie is confident City can put their poor recent form behind them to secure a top-seven finish. Hendrie told the T&A: "I still believe he can be a success and the vast majority of us are right behind him. We want him to drive this club forward. "What Bradford City need is the Stuart McCall we all know and love. The Stuart McCall who's bright and bubbly and up for it, leading from the front, not looking as if he's got the world on his shoulders." Hendrie, who spent nine months as player-manager at Barnsley in 1998/9, added: "It's been a bad run, but City are far from out of it. Seventh position is well within their grasp. Promotion is the aim by hook or by crook. It doesn't matter one iota if you finish fourth or sneak in seventh, as long as you've got a crack at the play-offs. "I'm generally optimistic and the prize is still there. If City do go on a half-decent run and end up winning promotion, we'll wonder why we were so worried."
