Doherty banned for Bantams

Bradford will be without suspended midfielder Tommy Doherty, but striker James Hanson could return to the squad for the game against Macclesfield. Doherty, sent off for violent conduct at Wycombe last week, has had his initial three-game ban reduced to one, so manager Peter Taylor will turn to either Lee Bullock or Leon Osborne in the Irishman's absence. Hanson missed out last week with a hamstring strain and could face a late test, while right-back Richard Eckersley is hoping to make his debut following his arrival on loan from Burnley last week. Another loanee, Watford midfielder Rob Kiernan, is expected to make his home debut following his first appearance for the Bantams last week. Central defender Steve Williams (groin) and Shane Duff (Achilles) remain sidelined, as do long-term absentees Simon Ramsden (calf) and Michael Flynn (hernia).
