Clarke: Willo is Championship class
Williams, handed a one-year contract in the summer after arriving from Bamber Bridge, is currently keeping Clarke out of Stuart McCall's starting line-up.
Clarke, a virtual ever-present last season, told the club's official website: "Willo is a really good player. You could see from when he first came in pre-season that he's a big strong lad who's good on the ball.
"He will keep learning because this is his first time in a professional club. He's a laid back character and if he carries on the way he has, I can see him playing in the Championship at some point because he's that good."
Clarke, currently skipper for the reserves, is determined to win back his place in the starting line-up.
He added: "It's a little bit of a shock, but you've just got to keep the faith. There are better players than me who've had bigger knocks than this."
