Despite bowing out of the Cup at the first hurdle, McCall was happy to see his men bridge the gap on County following their 5-0 drubbing on the opening day of the season.[LNB]He said: "I thought we showed a great deal of character to come back after half-time, as the goal just after the break was a massive blow.[LNB]"I was looking for our centre-backs to show some steel after the 5-0 defeat at the start of the season and I thought despite conceding two goals we defended well.[LNB]"There were no glaring errors and we stuck at it against a team that is full of Championship quality players.[LNB]"I'm disappointed in the defeat but we have a lot of positives to take from the game. We created a lot of chances and Simon Eastwood made a couple of cracking saves. It could have been 3-3."[LNB][LNB]
