Bantams hopeful on Jones

Bradford captain Gary Jones is expected to return to the squad for the home game against Gillingham following illness.

Midfielder Jones missed the midweek win at Colchester, where Bradford secured their first league win on the road since November, with Matty Dolan, on loan from Middlesbrough, stepping in.

Striker James Hanson (groin) and defender Andrew Davies (calf) both played the full 90 minutes after returning to the side on Tuesday night, while on-loan Leeds defender Adam Drury hopes to continue after making his full debut.

Defenders James Meredith and Matty Taylor (both foot), winger Raffaele De Vita (hip/groin), plus midfielder Kyel Reid (knee) all remain sidelined.

Gillingham boss Peter Taylor is again set to be without several players.

Chris Whelpdale (ankle), Ryan Inniss and Michael Harriman (both hamstring) have all been absent in recent weeks and are unlikely to be fit for the trip to West Yorkshire.

Striker Danny Kedwell is expected to be unavailable for a further two weeks with a knee injury picked up just after recovering from a hernia operation.

Fellow frontman Adam Birchall made his first Gills appearance since April as a late substitute last weekend and he could be handed a similar role at Valley Parade.
