Injuries mount for Bantams

Bradford defender James Meredith has been ruled out of the home game with Bristol City due to a foot injury.

Left-back Meredith broke a bone in his foot in training on Tuesday and will be sidelined for several weeks, while boss Phil Parkinson will also hand late fitness tests to striker Nahki Wells (hamstring/calf) and midfielder Nathan Doyle (groin/hip), who are both major doubts.

Winger Raffaele De Vita (thigh), striker Andy Gray (dead leg) and Andrew Davies (knee) all remain sidelined, but fellow defender Matt Taylor (hamstring) has returned to training and is in contention.

Bradford are chasing their first win since late November and have won only one of their last 14 league matches.

Bristol City's new signing Tyrone Barnett may have to settle for a place on the bench at Valley Parade.

Barnett arrived from Peterborough on loan this week but his new manager Steve Cotterill admitted that he is not quite up to speed yet when it comes to match fitness and he may have to wait for his first City start.

Cotterill will, however, be boosted by the return of Derrick Williams who served a one-match ban against Watford last weekend.

Welshman Wes Burns impressed during his 20-minute substitute appearance against the Hornets and he looks set to be involved again having teed up Jay Emmanuel-Thomas' leveller.
