Jamie Proctor bags brace as Bradford defeat Doncaster

Jamie Proctor scored a brace as Bradford City maintained their League One play-off push with a 2-1 win over relegation threatened Doncaster Rovers.

Proctor, who joined Bradford from Fleetwood in January - first on loan and then on permanent transfer until the end of the season - put Bradford ahead after seven minutes.

The opener came after a smart three-man move which ended with Proctor playing the ball out to Billy Clarke on the right and then heading the former's cross into the net from just inside the six-yard box.

Proctor added the second in the 49th minute after another smart move. Kyel Reid sent James Meredith away on the overlap and the left-back delivered a superb cross for Proctor to score with a glancing header just inside the far post.

Billy Clarke and Tony McMahon came close to adding to Bradford's lead before Doncaster staged a late rally which led to Nathan Tyson pulling a goal back in the last minute of normal time with a close-range shot after Andy William flicked the ball into his path.

However, they could not force an equaliser and have now gone 11 games without a win.
