Leaders Burton beaten by Bradford

Bradford moved level on points with sixth-placed Barnsley after a deserved 2-0 win over Sky Bet League One leaders Burton at Valley Parade.

The Bantams went in front after 13 minutes through winger Kyel Reid. He took a pass from striker Billy Clarke and scored with a superb, angled left-foot shot into the far corner of the net, giving his former Bradford team-mate, goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin, no chance.

Only resolute defending by Bradford prevented Burton from equalising in the 20th minute as Reece Burke blocked Callum Butcher's shot and then goalkeeper Ben Williams made a fine save to deny Mark Duffy.

Burke scored Bradford's second goal after 28 minutes. Tony McMahon played a short free-kick to Billy Clarke, whose shot was saved by McLaughlin, but the keeper could not hold the ball and 19-year-old Burke, on loan from West Ham, fired the rebound into the net.

Burton, four points clear at the top of the table, went close to pulling a goal back in the second half but Bradford missed the chance to put the result beyond doubt in the 79th minute when McMahon saw his under-hit penalty saved by McLaughlin after defender Cansdell-Sherriff had handled in the area.
