Michael Flynn put them in front after 23 minutes with a right-foot shot from 15 yards after cutting in from the left flank. However, the turning point of the match came in the 55th minute when a mistake by Bradford defender Zesh Rehman let in Derek Niven. Simon Eastwood made an impressive save, diving at Niven's feet and when the ball was swept to the other end of the field Scott Neilson scored the second goal after Tommy Lee turned Gareth Evans' angled shot into his path. Substitute Chris Brandon then put the result beyond doubt with Bradford's third, firing into the unguarded net from 10 yards after Lee punched the ball into his path.
