Bantams appeal Hanson red

Bradford have launched an appeal against the dismissal of James Hanson in Saturday's 5-0 home win over Oxford. The Bantams striker was shown a straight red card by referee David Webb following an altercation with Oxford defender Jake Wright, who was also dismissed. Players from both sides squared up to each other during a melee 20 minutes from the end and visiting defender Mark Creighton was sent off for his second bookable offence. Bradford manager Peter Taylor has studied DVD footage of the incident and has asked the club to appeal against Webb's decision to dismiss Hanson. If successful, Hanson will start in Tuesday night's clash at Bury, but if not he will also miss forthcoming league games at Colchester and Wycombe.
