Young faces month on the sidelines

Bournemouth defender Neil Young is set to be out for at least a month after breaking his ankle during the FA Cup clash with Crewe on Saturday.

The 29-year-old sustained a stress fracture after falling awkwardly during the goalless draw.

It is a further blow for Cherries boss Sean O'Driscoll who has seen his small promotion-hunting squad decimated by injuries in recent weeks.

"There is a stress fracture to one of the bones in his ankle and there is some ligament damage as well," the club's physiotherapist Jim Marshall told the Bournemouth Echo.

"We will know more after we have seen the specialist."
