Cummings set for extended absence

Bournemouth have been rocked by the news that Warren Cummings faces a longer spell on the sidelines than was previously feared.

The Scot has been sidelined for around 12 months after sustaining a compound fracture to his left leg in a 3-0 win over Swindon Town last March.

Only last week he said that he hoped to be back in he side before the end of this campaign, having recently played for the second string against Weymouth, but his chances could be dashed as he may need a new operation.

The metal plate used to keep his fractured bone together has become an irritation and needs removing which means he will be out for a further period of time to allow for healing.
