Bournemouth are set to welcome Warren Cummings back to training on Tuesday for the first time since he broke his leg last March.
The defender suffered a double break in his tibia and fibula in a game at Swindon Town.
His long road to recovery has been hampered by the bones failing to heal properly after three months in plaster, before an infection set in.
That held up his return to action for four months, but he is now ready to return to non-contact training this week with the target of playing in League One action before the end of the year.
