Shaun Cooper has committed his future to Bournemouth by putting pen to paper on a new 18-month contract at Dean Court.
The 22-year-old defender joined the Cherries on a short-term deal after being released by Portsmouth in the summer and has done enough to persuade manager Sean O'Driscoll to extend his stay.
"Shaun's always had great technical ability and I'm naturally pleased that he's started to fulfil his potential as a player," O'Driscoll told the club's official website.
"He still has bigger and better things to achieve and work on, but I'm delighted that he's decided to sign 18 months with us.
"I think it's the best move for him and if he continues his development the way he has been we'll end up with a very talented player."
