Bournemouth boss Sean O'Driscoll has confirmed that he intends to appeal against the red card shown to Warren Cummings during Saturday's 1-0 defeat at Colchester United.
The former Chelsea trainee was dismissed just before the break for allegedly stamping on the U's Karl Duguid, a charge he denies.
"Warren says it was not a stamp and their player has said it was," said O'Driscoll.
"We will have to see what an independent observer says. It is either an accident or a really callous act.
"I don't think Warren is that sort of boy so I have to say whatever contact was made was accidental."
