Bournemouth have signed Jo Kuffour on a free transfer from Brentford, with the striker having signed a two-year contract with the Cherries.

The 25-year-old scored 14 goals for the Bees last season, but opted to move on after the Griffin Park club were relegated to League Two.

Dean Court chairman Jeff Mostyn told the club's official website: "The signing is a clear indication of our ambition to take the club forward. Jo is a first-class player with lots of ambition.

"We've had to fight off a number of clubs for his signature, some from the Championship.

"I think Jo was impressed with our tenacity and our attempts to sign him."
