Cherries look to Krasner

Former Leeds United chairman Gerald Krasner has been appointed as Bournemouth's administrator.

The Cherries confirmed on Friday that they had gone in to administration after being served with a winding-up petition by HM Revenue & Custom earlier this week.

Krasner is a licensed insolvency practitioner and director of Bartfields, which was acquired by business recovery specialist Begbies Traynor in November 2007.

Begbies Traynor's Julie Palmer, who is based in Salisbury, will act as the local link between the League One club and Krasner.

Bournemouth, who have amassed debts believed to total around £4million, have been docked ten points and are now at the foot of the League One table.
