Cash boost for Cherries

Bournemouth have been handed a financial boost after John Piper agreed to become the first investor to join the new owners.
The former Cherries company secretary has told the club's co-owners, Jeff Mostyn and Steve Sly, that he hopes to bring in "substantial, but undisclosed" investment via his work in the property development field.
Piper, who owns Dean Park Properties, told the Bournemouth Daily Echo: "Jeff Mostyn and Steve Sly saved the football club from certain disaster, nobody can ignore that.
"And I'm really keen to help. I'm really pleased that I've seen these two guys coming in and putting their money up without any strings attached and they're very serious about turning the club into something that will cover its own costs.
"My responsibility is very much on generating non-matchday income and I'm quietly confident I can do that successfully. I've learnt a thing or two about property in the time I've been doing it."
