Rodwell rues league rules

Boston United chairman Jim Rodwell has revealed that the Pilgrims were unable to seal any deadline day loan signings due to the Football League's salary guidelines.
The League Two strugglers had hoped to add Huddersfield Town defender John McCombe and Hartlepool United striker Michael Proctor to their ranks, but were prevented from doing so by league rules stating that clubs cannot spend more than 60 per cent of their turnover on wages.
Rodwell told the Lincolnshire Echo: "It wasn't a case of us not having enough money.
"We were prevented from bringing players in because of salary management.
"Believe me, we explored every possible way around the situation with the Football League, but there was nothing we could do about it."
