Boston United manager Steve Evans has strengthened his side's defence with the signing of Alan White from League Two rivals Leyton Orient.

The 28-year-old signed an 18-month contract at York Street after arriving as a replacement for Lee Beevers, who moved to Lincoln City last week.

Evans told the club's official website: "I am delighted to get Alan on board. He was outstanding for Colchester United last season and is a great competitor.

"He will be loved by our fans, who appreciate a winner when they see one."

White has made 250 league appearances during a career that has seen him turn out for Middlesbrough, Luton, Colchester and Orient.
