Pilgrims agree swap deal
23 Nov 2006 - 14:00:00
Boston United have signed David Rowson from Darlington and sent Mark Albrighton in the opposite direction.
Rowson, 30, moved to the Quakers from Northampton Town in the summer, but lost his first-team place when new boss Dave Penney arrived at the north-east club.
Meanwhile, central defender Albrighton has signed for Darlington.
"With Lee Canoville back in full training and especially the emergence of young Jamie Stevens, I could afford to consider moving Mark Albrighton out on loan," Boston boss Steve Evans told the club's official website.
"I tried to sign David Rowson back in the summer, but financially it was beyond us and we must thank Darlington for their assistance now.
"I spoke to Dave Penney over the weekend and he said he would consider the option with Rowson if I would do likewise with Albrighton for the same time period.
"I therefore proposed a deal to my chairman and he alone could see it was not only a good deal financially for Boston United, but it did give us a more rounded balance within the squad."
