Boston United's hopes of avoiding relegation to the Conference have received a further blow with the news that Stewart Talbot doesn't expect to play again this season.
The Pilgrims midfielder suffered a torn hamstring in the 4-1 victory over Macclesfield Town at the beginning of April and doesn't feel his injury will heal in time to make any significant contribution to the relegation-threatened club in their final two fixtures.
"It was probably as a result of playing two games in three days over the Easter weekend," said Talbot, who has already missed four months of this season with a calf injury.
"I couldn't kick a ball the other day without being in an awful lot of pain.
"I can't even run at the moment either so I've no chance of playing this weekend against Torquay.
"There's a slight chance I could play against Wrexham on the final day, but it will probably be a case of sitting on the bench and making up the numbers."
