Boston United boss Steve Evans is being linked with the managerial vacancy at Chester City following Monday's sacking of Mark Wright.
The Pilgrims need to beat Wrexham on the last day of the season to avoid a return to the Conference, but whatever the result at the Racecourse Ground, Evans is expected to leave the Pilgrims this summer.
When asked about the possibility of taking charge of Chester, Evans told the Lincolnshire Echo: "There's nothing to comment on apart from the fact that I have a rolling contract at Boston and I still have a job to do here.
"In that respect nothing will get in the way of my preparations for Saturday's game against Wrexham.
"Preserving our Football League status is absolutely vital, despite the horrendous financial situation we find ourselves in - it's the biggest game in our history."
