Boston United boss Steve Evans paid tribute to his side after they kept their survival hopes alive following a 1-1 draw with Torquay United.
The Pilgrims secured a precious point with an 83rd minute Drewe Broughton equaliser at Plainmoor which means, should they defeat fellow strugglers Wrexham in next weekend's promotion showdown, the cash-strapped club will avoid relegation to the Conference.
"I'm proud that we've left our Football League survival in our own hands," Evans told the club's official website.
"We have the huge task of winning at Wrexham, but these players are capable of doing just that.
"Given everything the players and staff have had thrown at them this season and, especially as no-one has been paid for about ten weeks, they've given me everything.
"Next Saturday for us is a cup final and one that is played on our opponent's ground.
"I have a feeling we can achieve what many have being calling a 'miracle' by winning at Wrexham and keeping Boston United in the Football League."
