Boston United boss Steve Evans claims his hands are tied in terms of players' contracts as he looks to build a squad for next season.
The Conference-bound Pilgrims will lose a number of out-of-contract players during the coming weeks.
However, with the financially-stricken club currently in administration, those players still with deals for next season are also free to leave.
"My hands are tied. Those players out-of-contract are free to go whenever they like, while those who do have contracts for next season can serve notice and then go," Evans told the Lincolnshire Echo.
"It makes things difficult, planning-wise. I don't want to get on the phone and sound like a lemon by enquiring about players when the situation at the club is still up in the air."
