Broughton keen to stay
21 Nov 2006 - 12:22:55
Drewe Broughton is desperate to make his loan switch from Chester City to Boston United permanent.
The 28-year-old moved to York Street on a one-month loan deal in October and netted in Saturday's crucial 3-2 victory at rock-bottom Macclesfield Town.
The former Rushden & Diamonds man's loan switch is scheduled to end after this weekend's League Two clash with Hereford United but he is keen to extend his stay.
"I'm loving it at Boston," Broughton told the Lincolnshire Echo. "I've been finding my form again after a desperate first three months of the season.
"I was so keen to continue my form of last season but, for a couple of reasons, things haven't worked out for me at Chester.
"If the opportunity arises, I'd love to stay for longer - that's what I'm playing for. I've got to convince the manager that I'm worth sticking with."
