Football League officials have refuse to confirm reports that Boston United will be deducted an immediate ten points for entering administration following their relegation to the Conference.
During Saturday's 3-1 defeat by Wrexham which saw the Pilgrims lose their Football League status, directors reportedly entered the club into a Company Voluntary Arrangement.
The penalty for entering administration is an immediate ten-point deduction, but the Football League claim any action is yet to be taken which raises the prospect of Boston beginning next season with the handicap.
"Boston United have been relegated from the Football League on merit," confirmed Football League spokesman John Nagle.
"In these circumstances discussions with regards to the club's insolvency situation will continue in conjunction with the other relevant football authorities."
