Bosnia-Hercegovina defeated Luxembourg 5-0 in their Euro 2012 qualifier on Friday and secured at least second place in Group D and the play-off place that goes with it.

"We played a good game and deserved to triumph, to eventually secure the play-off. The goal has been achieved," said coach Safet Susic.

"We took this match very seriously and we were very motivated."

Whether the Bosnians can secure automatic qualification will be known on Tuesday in their match against France -- who have a one-point advantage -- in Paris that will decide who will finish on top.

"We go (to Paris) unburdened. It is hard to expect a victory, but we will do everything to achieve a good result and to perform the best we can against France.

"If we lose, we still have the play-off spot which is indeed a great success," concluded the 56-year-old Susic.

His target is to guide the former Yugoslav republic, which has been independent since 1992, to its first ever major finals.

Any doubt about the winner of Friday's match was removed in the first half.

Edin Dezko opened the scoring in the 12th minute followed by Zvjezdan Misimovic, who scored twice, and Miralem Pjanic for 4-0. Haris Medunjanin made it 5-0 in the 51st minute.
